The 2016 Chevy Malibu has the auto industry talking…
The Malibu has stood in the shadow of other media darlings in the midsize sedan category for a long time. For the 2016 Malibu, GM went back to the drawing board and decided to not only join the competition, but to dazzle and delight the consumer with new technology safety features nestled under a sleeker, sportier looking exterior.
Offering three separate powertrain choices, the Malibu is now more fuel efficient coming with a standard 1.5 Turbo charged that delivers an estimated 37MPG on the highway. Mark Rowe, a sales consultant with Ghent Chevrolet Cadillac in Greeley Colorado, notes that with the totally new design of the Malibu, the customer now has a much roomier interior with better viability. The Malibu features Chevrolet’s dual cockpit signature design and the rear seats offer more leg room to the prior models.
Mark mentions that one of the new features you find on this year’s Malibu is the Teen Driver Mode. This allows parents control over the driving experience their teens will have behind the wheel. The parents can set speed alerts and enable features like lowered volume on the radio when seat belts have not been engaged. Some other new features include Lane Change Alert and Lane Change Assist with Lane Departure Warning. Mark explains that with the Lane Change Assist, there is radar on each side of the Malibu that allows it to see the lines on the road. If it senses you drifting over those lines, the Malibu will bring you back between the lines on it’s own. There are many other safety features that are available with the new Malibu, including rear vision camera and ten standard air bags among many others.
Aesthetically, the auto industry is applauding the Malibu for making it’s body sleeker and lighter than previous editions. It’s widened stance also give it that sporty feel. The Chevy Malibu has many new bells and whistles to enhance an already solid base product. It is an excellent choice for those looking for a midsize sedan that is a great price but also delivers appeal, quality and value. If you want to see the Malibu for yourself, feel free to come for a test drive at Ghent Chevrolet in Greeley at the corner of Highway 34 and 35th Avenue.
